Pray The Prayer of salvation
Salvation Prayer: Dear God, I know that my sin has separated me from you. Thank you that Jesus loved me so much that He chose to die in my place and then rose from the dead so that I could walk in victory. I ask you, Jesus, to forgive my sin and come live inside of me. Open my ears to hear your voice and please begin to direct my life. Thank you for giving me eternal life and for making me a son/daughter of God, and a new creation in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Grow in God
If you have just prayed that prayer, then welcome to God's family! You have just entered into your most important relationship, one in which the God of the universe now lives inside of you. He is there to encourage, strengthen and build you up in every area of life. You are now a son/daughter of the Most High God and His desire and intentions towards you are always good! But like any relationship, investment is required. We would consider any relationship strange and unbalanced if only one person spoke to the other. So it is with God as well. He desires to hear your concerns and joys, your needs and thanksgiving, even your complaints. However, He also desires to speak to you as well.
God has many names and among them are Counselor, Teacher, Our Provider, Prince of Peace, Healer, Comforter and many more. To be and do all of these things requires communication in both ways.
In John 10:27-28 Jesus says that "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand." We are His sheep and therefore we can hear His voice. We hear Him as we spend time in His word, the Bible. We hear Him as we enter into worship of Him and listen to inspired teachings. We hear Him through others because He lives and speaks through other believers. And we hear Him, often sounding like our own voice, in our heads and in our hearts. You will know it as you get to know about Him, His word and His nature. He is never condemning (Romans 8:1) but brings conviction (John 16:8) for the purpose of restoration (Gal 6:1). He brings abundant life, the enemy (satan) only comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). He is good (Psalm 46:1-3), and His intentions towards you are good as well (Matthew 7:9-12)!
Let Us Pray For You
So where do you being? Take some time right now to talk with Him and listen for His voice. Then, open up a Bible (you can find a free online version here). Start with the New Testament books of John and Romans. Find and get plugged into a local church. If you live nearby, you are always welcome here at the ARC. If not begin searching what's available around you and ask Papa God to help direct you to a place where you can be loved, healed, mentored and restored!
