Identity, Culture and Stepping Out, by Senior Pastor Fred Garcia

Front Yard

Who are we?

We are an apostolic center which has a church as it’s core/heart, and I truly believe that was by design. Not all apostolic centers will look the same. They are not two separate entities, they’re one by design. When we dissect just a little…

A church seeks the restoration and transformation of the individual. An apostolic center seeks the restoration and transformation of the culture…aka reformation. However, it is the transformation of the individual that is the catalyst for cultural change–Matt touched on… Culture, begets culture. Culture is the sum total way of living passed on from generation to generation. Our goal is to properly steward revival culture which can be injected into other cultures, through people (5 fold ministry) to transform 7 mountains of cultured. In a nutshell the church provides the basic elements for cultural change, the training ground for the 5 fold ministry gifts and becomes a launching pad & place of accountability.

Three keys for cultural change are Action, Communication, and Testimony. ACT.

We’ve become a culture of back yard living. The back yard is quieter, hidden/intimate, grassy, or with a deck to enjoy family and play. This wasn’t always so. Our culture used to be front yard living.

Front yard living was louder, public, facing the sidewalk, and greeting others as they passed by.

We need to return to front yard living and embrace community to be effective in promoting cultural change.

Matthew 5:16 (NASB)
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
