Sent Ones, by Senior Pastor Fred Garcia

Sent Ones

The plan from the beginning has been restoration, the apostolic is the vehicle.

In the beginning, God spoke and created.

As He spoke He brought order to chaos:

  1. He spoke and there was light
  2. He spoke and there was an expanse, the sky or the first heavens
  3. He spoke and  dry land, a foundation was formed in the midst of the waters along with all the vegetation, things that would bear fruit…
  4. He spoke and the sun, moon and stars were formed and set into place
  5. He spoke and created all the birds of the sky and fish/creatures of the sea
  6. He spoke and created all the cattle and land dwelling creatures and He created man…

He gave man authority and dominion:

Gen 1:26-28 (AMC)  26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. [Ps. 104:30; Heb. 1:2; 11:3.]
27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. [Col. 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9.]
28 And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.

Jesus sent them…

Matt 28, Mk16

To be apostolic revolves around the concept of being sent.

Everything that you receive here revolves around the concept of being sent, it is for that purpose.

Everything that the Filler’s brought last weekend was to help build you up even more so that you could be sent out

As He spoke He brought order to chaos, so too are we!!!

  1. He spoke and there was light – bring light of Christ
  2. He spoke and there was an expanse, the sky or the first heavens – we’re called to pull on heaven, speak it forth, kingdom at hand, seated in heavenlies
  3. He spoke and  dry land, a foundation was formed in the midst of the waters along with all the vegetation, things that would bear fruit… – we’re called to help lay a strong biblical foundation for people, a place where they can stand to weather the storms of life
  4. He spoke and the sun, moon and stars were formed and set into place to mark time and seasons – we’re called to help them understand & thrive in every season of life
  5. He spoke and created all the birds of the sky and fish/creatures of the sea (we are called as stewards to care for the birds, the fish, the animals, the environment)
  6. He spoke and created all the cattle and land dwelling creatures and He created man…we are called to reproduce, help our children to be filled with the glory of the Lord and then fill the earth!

He gave man authority and dominion.

That’s what this licensing is all about next weekend…

Licensing – granting of authority, and trust to do what you are called to do

Overseer –

James 3:1 (NASB) 1  Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.
1 Peter 5:1-5 (NASB) 1  Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, 2  shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; 3  nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. 4  And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 5  You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
1 Timothy 3:1-7 (NASB) 1  It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do. 2  An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3  not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money. 4  He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity 5  (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?), 6  and not a new convert, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil. 7  And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

There is a weightiness in being licensed…for Matt, Jen now being even greater equipped to discharge their duties as elders for which they were set in 11 years ago & for Melissa no less even though it is less defined at the moment…they are each called to the building of the local church as well as greater church at large wherever that church may exist within the mountains of culture.

Paul, speaking to the Ephesians in Acts 20:28 spoke this about overseers:  "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

That’s Weighty…

Also for myself and the other elders, for myself as the setman or senior pastor, for Apostle Tim as the founding Pastor of this ministry and an apostle of RAIN, for Apostle Jim as the head of RAIN, to set them in to a place of overseeing.

It is a demonstration of trust in their relationship with Christ first and foremost, our trust in them as leadership, and the trust which each of you have placed in them in allowing them to minister to you and speak into your lives.

The plan from the beginning has been restoration, the apostolic is the vehicle

It is also the reason why we honor mother’s today, for the special role God gave them in this process…

Bless moms…
