Celebrating 35 Years, by Fred Garcia

Generational

35 years… as I was looking into the significance of this milestone for this ministry, God spoke 2 things in particular.

First the number 35 represents a generation. You’ll find varying definitions of the years that represent a generation, but they average approximately 35 years biblically speaking. The sum total of all that God has done, has been doing and what He has spoken prophetically throughout the years, is that this ministry is called to be a Generational Ministry.

Second, 35 is the sum of 5 & 7. Five is the number of grace. Seven is the number of completeness or perfection. I believe that, as a ministry, we are just beginning to step into the fullness of grace, that there is now, having endured many challenges, that is a completeness which will enable us to step into this aspect of who we are called to be as a “Generational Ministry” and truly, help to model (along with others) for the church at large what it means to BE a “Generational Ministry”.

To that end I want to begin taking a look at one aspect of what this means…so turn, if you will to Matt 13:52.

Matthew 13:52 (NASB) And Jesus said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old."

The Kingdom of heaven is at hand…yes, as we’ve talked about it IS the full heavenly arsenal, EVERY Kingdom resource you can imagine available to you and I, but for what purpose? People…the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Will you go out and gather? Will you go out and spend recklessly to see others step into relationship with Jesus? Are you willing to disciple others?

Matthew 28:18-20 (NASB) 18
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
