Hebrews 4:12, by Michele Garcia

conviction
Hebrews 4:12 (NASB 2020) For the Word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged word, even penetrating as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

His Word was never meant to be used in a fashion to bring comfort only–it’s meant to bring conviction, not condemnation. To convict is to expose, to bring into the light, convict, reprove, rebuke, discipline, to argue with, to prove to correct, to show to be guilty.

To Condemn is strong disapproval of, unfavorable or adverse judgment on, sentence to, punishment–to pronounce to be guilty.

Jesus took that guilty verdict for us on the cross–once, for all, and for all time! The enemy would like us to believe that we are eternally guilty–we are not. We need to break off condemnation & shame!
